Hello all you Dino fans. We successfully launched our new Dino funding drive. It was setup as a soft launch about two weeks ago, and have already received 18 Dino backers for a grand total of $12,705. That is truly awesome. Today is the official Dino launch on our quest to reach $48,000. We are looking to complete the drive by end of December, and start the animation in first quarter of 2011. Yehhhhh.
Oh, a quick but important side note. If you have donated $ in the first round of funding then those funds were never taken off your credit card as we didn’t reach out goal That is how the program worked. We had limited time to fully fund and we needed to be fully funded to receive the money. So,…. that is why we set up KickStart Dino 2.0
Thank you all for contributing to the development of quality children’s programming, for helping us get this awesome show off the ground and for being passionately engaged in the Dino process. Get ready for the ride:-)
Hellooo Dino fans. A quick update on the Dino TV Pilot. We have successfully completed our first of a two part funding drive. We will be opening up part two on the Dinosaurus Exploreus website next week to get all you KickStartDino investors on board. It will function just like KickStartDino, except we will be using PayPal instead of Amazon. All the rewards will stay the same also… yahoooo
Hello Ya’ll. Fresh off the KickStartDino fund drive and ready for another go at it. Although we didn’t raise what we needed, the outpouring of support was much more than what we had anticipated. There were also many people wanting to play a larger part in the Dino future making the Balance Studios/Believe Animation team excited to give this another go around. I will post the details of our grand plan next week.
As of this moment, the Dino clan has a new member on the team. Mrs. Rex, Oscars mom will now be part of the show. BUT WAIT…what so grand about that you say? Well, she will be voices in the pilot by none other than the amazingly talented Hollywood actress, Beth Grant.
Here’s a Mini Biography

She was a Page in the North Carolina Senate, attended the North Carolina Governor’s School for Gifted and Talented students, and received a governor’s appointment at the age of nineteen.

One of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces, she has starred in over seventy feature films including this year’s Best Picture Academy Award nominated Little Miss Sunshine (2006). She delighted in creating the character you love to hate, Pageant Official Jenkins, making Grant the happy recipient of the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble Cast In A Feature Film.

Grant is a recipient of The Los Angeles Drama Critics Award and The L.A. Stage Alliance Award and The Backstage West Garlan Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Del Shores’ the Trials And Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife.
On television, Grant was a favorite on the “Six Feet Under” (2001) episode, “The Rapture.” This season she married then cheated on Jason Lee on “My Name Is Earl” (2005). She has been a regular or recurred on many television shows including “Malcolm in the Middle” (2000), “King of the Hill” (1997), “Yes, Dear” (2000), “Everwood” (2002), “Delta” (1992), and “Wonderfalls” (2004).
She has guest-starred in hundreds of hit television series such as “Friends” (1994), “The X-Files” (1993), “Angel” (1999), and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2000). I have been compiling my thoughts on the subject of the making of a great song post, getting everyone in line to give their thoughts on the subject, then out of the blue. I get a a Dino fan song sent to me. Yes, a fan of the Dino’s and the Dino Song, made his own version of the catchy tune. The super talented musician is the one and only, bluesman, Ken Dennison and his take is fantastically original, fresh and just awesome to listen to. Click on the attached.. and enjoy! This week I will be posting the process of “The making of the DinosaurUs ExploreUs Title Song”. I’ll go through the progression from idea to finished piece and chat with the amazing musicians and songwriters involved with the process. It took 4 people to get the tune to it’s final stage that you hear today. Mark Wisehart, Bob Halligan Jr. Jef Gibbons and myself collaborated for over a month to get it just, oh so right.

Hello all. Exciting news from the Dino front, we just received our first 3D prototype of Oscar. The process, is simply amazing. An actual 3D print of one of our 3D characters… Sounds redundant, but really it’s not. Here’s a link to what 3D printing is, (not for the faint of heart) For us, it means we get to see our computer models, come to life. Instead of them only existing in the virtual world, we can now hold them in our grubby little hands, and share them with the world. We will be doing many more prototypes with all the Dino clan. So keep a lookout for future posts on this exciting process.
